Electrical Peroidic Inspection Reports
Spectrocity will be providing a superior electrical peroidic inspection for customers wishing to address all the requirements of the National Rules of Electrical Installation I.S.10101 2020 in the near future.
Many companies opt for an electrical thermal imaging survey over the PIR as they can not power down equipment, processes or business operations. The new National Rules I.S. 10101 2020 Chapter 6 "Verification and Certification" Clause 6.5, outlines the Periodic Verification. The statutory requirements for certification, periodic inspection / reporting etc are established by the Irish authorities including the HSA. Thermography addresses the elements required with the exception of the PIR tests in Clause 6.4, which address the fault loop impedance tests and tripping time tests, causing interruption of the supply. The PIR on its own also falls short in addressing a number of the points listed in Clause 6.4, as it is impossible to evaluate the condition of circuits and components with the naked eye alone.
As a comprehensive approach both tests together fully satisfy the requirements. Spectrocity will be providing this unique service in the near future for those needing a superior verification based on their risk assessments.
All the standards lay down the minimum requirements, the decisions on meeting or exceeding the requirements should be based on the risk assessment. Many insurance companies now request an electrical thermal survey report as it offers superior fire protection when conducted at a frequency matching the risk assessment. Customer feedback has shown that Spectrocitys reports are of exceptional detail and quality.
