Statutory Inspections

Statutory Inspection is related to HSA legislation.  There is a duty to inspect or examine a specific piece of equipment at a particular point in time.  Inspection is done once at installation and then on a periodic basis depending on the type of machine / legislation. The purpose of inspections is to control risk and identify issues or non-conformities.  Inspection must be carried out by appropriate inspector.

Below are some links to the HSA website that contain details on electrical testing and inspection.  Regulations 89 in " Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007 outline electrical testing and inspection. Thermal Imaging and ultra sound scans are listed in the guidance notes as test methods.
